First Floor 04:16
I packed some things, I sold some things, Then I bought a case of brandy And she really got a hold of me. Now I’m thinking of that love, That circled me with flames. It was all up top, just below the sky, But it cost so much, it hurt so much, To let her go, to let her fly. Now I’m drinking to that love And I won’t be the same. I fell before- But not this fast And not that far. Hey, I’m coming down. I’ve been up town so long, Higher than that wire. And that girl? Well, she’s not around anymore Now we’re living on the first floor Once again. I believe it once again. The neighbours they’re all in their phones. I pass them at the elevator but they never say hello. Now I’m winking at that girl, She reminds me of the days… We were at the top, we were looking out, The lake was like an ocean, I said, “Hey, we’ll have another round!” We were drinking to a world that had no end. I’ve been moved before, But not as much And not sure. Hey, I’m coming down. I’ve been up town so long, Higher than that wire. And that girl? Well, she’s not around anymore Now we’re living on the first floor Once again. First floor, fell before, But not that fast and not that hard. Once again, I believe it once again. I fell before- But not as fast And not as hard. Hey, I’m coming down. I’ve been up town so long, Higher than that wire. And that girl? Well, she’s not around anymore Now we’re living on the first floor Once again, I’m coming down. I’ve been up town so long, Higher than that wire. And that girl? Well, she’s not around anymore Now we’re living on the first floor Once again. I’m coming down.

I’m gonna pick up the pieces; Had myself in a haze for days too long. Gonna try and retrieve it; Reconnect all the links and the broken bonds Hey, back to the start- Catch your eye, love And your heart is so true. I’m talkin’ bout love, I’m talkin’ bout faith, I’m talkin’ bout every mistake that I made, I’m talkin’ bout you, I’m talkin’ bout me, And the spaces that lie in-between. Get me back to you. Going to tear up the pages; Break the rules I was a fool to be bound by too long Words-black on grey, Drained the colours away from the strains of your song. Hey, back to the court- Struck so wide, love Hit me hard, hit me soft, too. I’m talkin’ bout love, I’m talkin’ bout faith, I’m talkin’ bout every mistake that I made, I’m talkin’ bout you, I’m talkin’ bout me, And the spaces that lie in-between. Get me back to... Going to capture the moment: Not be bound by the hands or the sands that mark on. Love-no defined sense of time, No line, no limit Hey, back to the start- Catch your eye, love And your heart is so true. I’m talkin’ bout love, I’m talkin’ bout faith, I’m talkin’ bout every mistake that I made, I’m talkin’ bout you, I’m talkin’ bout me, And the spaces that lie in-between. I’m talkin’ bout love, I’m talkin’ bout faith, I’m talkin’ bout every mistake that I made, I’m talkin’ bout you, I’m talkin’ bout me, And the spaces that lie in-between. Get me back to you.

about

First Floor and The Spaces Between are the first two tracks to be released by trans-Atlantic combo Teamaker/Clarke. Two ice cool slices of soulful summer pop, drenched in sunshine, coated with joie de vivre with the hint of a darker, richer centre. Pour a cool drink, sit out and enjoy the soulful vocals of Marc Teamaker, and the insistent rhythms of Iain Clarke, shimmering and sparkling in the sun, undulled by the threat of clouds. Love, life, loss, laughter. Listen.
